For Triennale Milano we designed the artwork for the visual identity of Triennale Estate. Collecting Stories, the summer program of events dedicated to the dialogue between different disciplines: from design to architecture, from photography to theatre and performing arts, addressing themes such as sustainability, diversity and intergenerational dialogue.
The project started from the intention to avoid the stereotypical imagery often associated with summer festivals. Instead, we worked on the idea of collection: Triennale as a place that gathers stories, perspectives and languages.
Starting from this concept, we developed a series of images with different shapes and colours, building an open and flexible visual system. The compositions draw inspiration from distinctive architectural elements of the Palazzo dell’Arte façade, echoing the approach of Italo Lupi who, in the 1970s, designed the Triennale logo starting from the architecture of the building itself.
