In 2021 we designed a 57-meter mural in Via Varesina 162, within Milan’s Certosa District, on the external wall of the corporate campus La Forgiatura.
A visual design intervention conceived as a message of urban renewal in an area undergoing rapid transformation.
Bright colours and geometric forms unfold along the wall, referencing industrial architectural elements and reflecting the district’s shift from manufacturing hub to innovation center.
The challenge
To intervene in a changing urban context without simply decorating a surface.
To create an image capable of restoring identity to a place, engaging both the architectural scale and the industrial memory of the area.
The solution
A visual narrative extending across 57 meters, turning the wall into a continuous graphic device.
Colour becomes a tool for orientation and recognition; geometry translates transformation into form.
Commissioned by h+ and SIGNS — the permanent observatory on visual design — and curated by Francesco Dondina, the project anticipated the first edition of the Milano Graphic Festival, positioning the Certosa District within a broader network dedicated to visual culture.
